Civinet German speaking area – About
The CIVITAS network for the German-speaking area is committed to improving the quality of life and living conditions in cities.
The CIVINET German speaking area is organized as a non-profit association whose area of activity relates to the German-speaking part of Europe. The association is politically independent and is committed to improving the quality of life and living conditions in European cities in the spirit of European unification.
For this purpose, the association informs natural and legal persons from the fields of politics, administration, public and private research institutions as well as organizations entrusted with mobility tasks on current political and economic developments that are important for urban transport as well as on research funding and available financial instruments, especially at European level.
The association achieves its goals in particular through:
- the implementation of events on urban traffic issues in German,
- introducing the members to topics,
- actors and learning content of the European CIVITAS initiative for clean urban transport and comparable initiatives, and
the promotion of a European discourse on urban traffic with other CIVITAS networks.
